runFIT Running Clinic for Spring

Our spring runFIT running clinic starts Monday, March 21, at our recently expanded Pacific Crest Physical Therapy location. ACE Master Running Coach, Derrick DeLay, will help you hone your skills and get you ready to run your best through exercises, drills and soft tissue maintenance techniques.

As a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Medicine, Derrick specializes in teaching athletes how to integrate strength, flexibility, core stability and cardiovascular training into their exercise regimens. His more than seven years of experience as a health and fitness professional will help you improve your performance, whether you’re a beginner or an avid runner.

Here are just a few of the things you can expect from runFIT:

Increase the integrity of tendons, ligaments and bones in the foot and leg

Increase the muscular strength of your feet, ankles, legs and hips

Increase your balance and stability

Learn to run with proper biomechanics

Decrease your likelihood of injury

Some of the most common ailments runners face affect their feet, ankles and knees, much of which are caused by improper technique, lack of conditioning or overuse. By increasing your strength and stability, and improving your focus on technique, you’re conditioning your body to protect itself from the demands of running. We want to help you protect yourself from injuries that are all too common among runners.
