At Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, we offer comprehensive, on-site radiology services in Portland at our Rose Quarter office; in Vancouver at our VancouverSalmon Creek, and Camas offices; as well as at our Lake Oswego office.

Radiology, or advanced medical imaging, allows our doctors to make the most accurate diagnosis of your injury or condition. In addition to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), we offer the radiology services listed below.

Digital X-Ray

A digital X-ray (digital radiology) is a form of X-ray imaging where digital X-ray sensors are used in place of traditional photographic film. Digital X-ray is used to diagnose conditions by taking pictures of the inside of the body.

CT Scan

A CT scan, or computed tomography scan, is an imaging tool used to see inside your body. This scan combines X-rays with computer technology to create a deeper, clearer picture.

CT scans are painless but time-consuming. The patient lies on a table that slides into a cylinder-shaped scanner. As the X-ray tube rotates around the table, a two-dimensional view appears on a television screen for your doctor to see.

Ultrasound

This nonoperative procedure involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of the inside of the body. Ultrasound exams do not use ionizing radiation (as used in X-rays). Ultrasound imaging is typically used to diagnose:

  • Abnormalities of the muscles
  • Bleeding or other fluid collections within the muscles, bursae, and joints
  • Early changes in rheumatoid arthritis
  • Small benign and malignant soft tissue tumors
  • Tendon tears
