Dr. Todd Borus Performs 3,000th Robotic Joint Replacement

Local surgeon Dr. Todd Borus and his team at Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery are celebrating his 3,000th joint replacement using Mako SmartRobotics. This is the highest number of joint replacements performed with this technology in the entire Pacific Northwest. The milestone surgery was performed at Rebound Surgery Center at 200 NE Mother Joseph Place, Suite 200, in Vancouver. Dr. Borus is available to see patients in Vancouver and Portland, Oregon. Patients in need of specialized total joint care are encouraged to call 1-800-Rebound for an appointment.

Dr. Borus is a national leader in Mako SmartRobotics robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery. He was the first surgeon in the region to utilize the technology in 2009 and has performed more of these procedures than any surgeon in the Pacific Northwest. He currently teaches Mako joint replacement surgical techniques to U.S. and international surgeons, both in the operating room and at national conferences. He uses Mako robotic technology for the full spectrum of total joint replacement procedures: partial knee, total knee and total hip replacements.

“This milestone is not just a number — it represents 3,000 individuals regaining their quality of life through advanced surgical techniques,” said Dr. Borus. “Robotic-assisted technology allows us to be more precise than ever, and I’m grateful to be at the forefront of providing this level of care to our community.”

After graduating from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, Dr. Borus completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He then pursued additional subspecialty training in joint replacement and finished a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is also certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
